In March 2018, Tavascan-La Pleta del Prat hosted us once more during the annual spitboard test, where we tried a good sample of the splitboards that are available in the market for this coming season.
After a few frantic weeks previous to the test, we found ourselves back at Tavascan-La Pleta del Prat, our favorite pilgrimage destination year after year, either for the annual splitboard test or to enjoy unreal conditions at one of the best kept secrets in our beloved Pyrenees. We cannot stop repeating how thankful we are to the people in charge of the resort and the refuge. Without their help, it would be impossible to put in place the biggest independent splitboard test.
Having observed the market trend of innovating with new shapes, we’ve decided to introduce a significant change for this season, establishing a new category with surfing inspired splitboards. The All-Round Surf Shape category is a freestyle-freeride blend developed to offer a max of performance and fun on deep powder days.
Tavascan welcomed us mid March with the best conditions we could possibly enjoy on its north faces. We had long days ahead of us, preluding the Spring which was around the corner. A few intense riding days for our staff and test team.
We’d also like to thank the brands that have supported the test from the beginning as well as those who have recently joined us for the first time. Splitboard Magazine is still the baby born from the unconditional passion of a bunch of splitboarders, and we can’t but thank all of those who put their trust in us year in, year out.
