Chimera Sceptre 2022/23
975,00 €
The award-winning Sceptre is the all-around backcountry board; a go-to workhorse for any conditions, terrain or weather. The combination of a mid-taper shape with carefully-designed sidecut, setback, flex and profile has produced a board with high float in powder yet is stable, precise and forgiving across variable conditions. The Sceptre merges a mid-tapered, wider nose with a longer tail for stability and versatility. In ski mode, the Sceptre is perfectly balanced for maneuverability and trail breaking, while the level contact patch maximizes traction on the skin track.

It’s been long since we first tried the Sceptre for the 2013-14 season. At first sight, the shape is quite unique: a combo of mid-tapered shape with flat camber and a distinctive early-rise nose and tail with squared blunt shape, which grants an excellent float on powder. The Chimera Sceptre is a stiff board -regarding both flex and torsion- meaning it offers the right hold when riding on the edges or on changing snow, where it behaves like a very solid splitboard, despite the flat camber. It is also agile and maneuverable carving short and wide turns, thanks to a tight sidecut providing super speedy and fluent edge-to-edge moves in all types of snow and terrain. Another feature we really liked and is worth mentioning, is the fact that it is hard boot compatible; an excellent option for an already consolidated alternative like hard boot splitboarding. In conclusion, the Sceptre is a splitboard that offers excellent performance, and we recommend it for intermediate and advanced level riders with solid riding skills.
