Born in Wisconsin without a real mountain in a thousand miles, I taught myself to snowboard on the miniature hills of Midwest golf courses and school grounds. But it only took one trip to the Sierra to realize California was calling my name. Now seventeen winters deep in Lake Tahoe, I am honored to have explored the world on my splitboard and forged a career as an action sports journalist. I was the photo editor of Kronicle Backcountry Snowboarding magazine and a freelancer story teller for ESPN, Teton Gravity Research and Transworld before helping Jeremy Jones start Jones Snowboards and becoming the brand’s marketing director and team manager.
Sharing stoke for splitboarding through words, photos and videos is my art and passion. When my eye meets the viewfinder i’m drawn to wide angles so I enjoy shooting on-slope and documenting lines from the rider’s perspective. My long legs benefit my style and i’m usually fired up to set the boot pack for a chance at a top down angle on the action.
