Greetings! You are being sent this correspondence, because we would like to make you and your organization or company aware of the upcoming 2013 Wasatch Splitfest, which will be based out of Salt Lake City and held from February 6th through 10th, 2013. This event is being organized and run by several local backcountry splitboarders, as a collective, grassroots effort. Our main goal is to celebrate our local, regional, and worldwide backcountry snowboarding community, with an eye toward backcountry safety and environmental awareness. Any and all splitboarders are welcome to participate in this event: outof‐towners, locals, old timers, newbies, and curious wannabes.
Our current tentative schedule (as of October 31st) includes the following evening events:
We are currently seeking sponsors and participants who would be willing to provide services, give presentations, display their split‐related artwork, or donate product that would be used in our Friday night raffle. We have confirmed that the Utah Avalanche Center will conduct our raffle and track the inventory of all donations. One hundred percent of the proceeds from the raffle will be donated to local organizations that protect backcountry winter recreation in the Wasatch. The venues for our Wednesday and Saturday nights, as well as the final recipients of the raffle proceeds, are currently being determined. We are also working out the logistics for demoing of splitboards by interested manufacturers. A separate Donation Information sheet is available from the contact below.
