The annual Splitboard Magazine test by Montana climbing skins took place during the last month of February. For six days we gathered 5 professional splitboarders to test around 30 splitboards from the 2016-17 season.

The chosen place was Tavascan, a true splitboarders’ paradise tucked in the heart of the Pyrenees. A ski resort with only one lift but infinite terrain from open bowls to tight chutes makes Tavascan an ideal place for testing boards from dawn until dusk.

Thanks to Tavascan’s ideal location we enjoyed great powder days, turning into more spring conditions as a warmer front hit the mountains towards the end of the test. All in all great conditions to test the boards in all the different kinds of snow that one might encounter on the mountains.

We would like to thank Montana climbing skins for providing us with one of the best splitboard skins of the market to use and abuse during all the test, as well as Spark R&D for providing bindings and pucks, Tavascan for making us feel better than at home and  all the brands that made it possible.
Here’s a video recap of the Splitboard Magazine annual test by Montana climbing skins filmd by WeDare Films.
We hope you enjoy it!
