Split Test Cerler

Last December 30th was the 7th World Snowboard Day (WSD).The ski resort Cerler (Aramon) invited us to do the first splitboard-test of the season.

Even though they didn’t receive snow during the previous days, the snow conditions were still great in the Cerler area, located amongst 2700 meters summits, one of the best places for splitboarding.

Throughout the day the ski resort organized different activities related to snow and all of us from splitboardmag were there the whole day sharing our knowledge and promoting splitboarding in the Ampriu area.
The splitboardmag team and Jose Félix Martínez, Cerler ambassador and well-known splitboarder, had the chance to display the different splitboards on the market to the most curious riders who felt like trying them out.

Brands like Völkl, Burton, Voile and Venture provided splitboards to make this test. In total we gathered more than 10 splitboards, with different sizes and shapes, including climbing skins and bindings.

The trials were in the company of one of the splitboardmag staff. We went on the Basibé slope to try the splitboards in touring mode, and after enjoying a gentle uphill, the riders switched into riding mode and enjoyed some smooth turns until reaching the bottom of the ski resort.

To finish the day, we met at the Remáscaro bar to introduce the Splitboard magazine, had a raffle for splitboardmag t-shirts and hats, and a DJ session to end a successful World Snowboarding Day.

Thanks to Burton Snowboards, Venture Snowboards, Voile, Völkl Snowboards and All Radical Mountain shop for lending us the necessary equipment, and to the Cerler ski resort for making it possible.

See you at the next splitboard test!
