The Premiere has been awarded with the Best Skinning award for third yeard in a row. Here’s what the testers had to say: “The guys at Salomon are well aware of the fact that on the mountain, we spend most of our time skinning up. Combined with a hard boot splitboarding kit, the Premiere is hard to beat if you plan on spending long days out there, looking for the best performance on your ascent. The down side has to be its weight, adding the assembling hardware of the 4 parts. Also, the waist width is something to consider: riders with smaller feet 26,2 cm (3,31 in) for the 157cm board won’t feel too comfortable at initiating turns or looking for the boards torsion on groomed snow. Nevertheless, its medium flex makes it a forgiving board that feels really comfortable shredding wide powder turns.”

Salomon Split: “Salomon is back with one of the most polyvalent boards in the market, capable of making you forget the rest of the boards in your quiver. Based on the legendary SickStick, and part of the Hillside project -Wolle Nyvelt’s baby- this is one of the splitboards that have you grinning the moment you start to slide down. The smooth flex and torsion feel comfortable the minute you strap on. A reactive and easy to steer splitboard that performs better on soft snow, but is perfectly capable of letting you enjoy splitboarding in all kinds of conditions as long as you press it the right way.”

Both of the splitboards come with POMOCA custom cut skins with smartly placed hooks make for no-fuss conversions at the top.
