Plum Feyan Carbon

GENERAL OVERVIEW:

To obtain a perfect ski control on ski mode and get the ultimate riding feeling with the best freeride binding on the ride mode were the challenges that faced Plum splitboard when the first Feyan system came out 3 years ago. After 3 years it’s confirmed, it’s a great splitboard system. Quick and easy to handle, the Feyan is built to response in any conditions the mountain throws at you. 100% made in France in a factory with almost 50 years of experience, the Feyan system was born from the necessity of a system that would perform in any kind of snow one might encounter in any mountain range in the world.

Weight: 915 g per binding M/L size (890g in S/M)

WHAT WE LIKED ABOUT IT:

  • The locking system on ride mode that tightens both halves of the board, which gives you a very solid snowboard feeling
  • High quality and very comfortable straps and highback
  • The improved touring position makes it more stable when sidehilling as you can transfer the energy in a more efficient way to the ski.
  • Improved and wider heel risers for better edging
  • Heel lock included in the system without adding any extra weight
  • Tool-free highback adjustments in three different angles

WHAT WE LIKED THE LEAST ABOUT IT:

  • It takes some time to set up the interface for the first time.
  • The crampons  function only partially with the heel risers on.

WHAT IS IT USEFUL FOR

Any splitboarder looking for a new system with a really good transmission in riding mode thanks to its attachments under the middle of the foot and four extra contact points, besides the top-quality straps and highback, and a superior skinning performance due to its wide touring brackets.
