International Freeride Film Festival Cauterets
If there’s anyone in the global freeriding scene who needs no introduction, it has to be Xavier de Le Rue. But in case you’ve lived in a cave or been on an outer space mission over the past 10 years, you should know that this Pyrenean snowboarder is one of the greatest freeriders of all times, an accomplished overall snowboarder, a rider who is always searching for the next challenge, a greater adventure, and in all, a fun, positive, down to earth guy. For this year’s 13 edition of the International Freeride Film Festival in Cauterets, we have the privilege to count on Xavier as our jury president and we couldn’t be any prouder!
15 – 17 DECEMBER 2016 CINEMA DE CAUTERETS. The International Freeride Film Festival stems from a strong drive to give recognition to the artistic quality of skiing and snowboarding films, and to make them available for a larger audience. Presented by Bruno Delaye and the town of Cauterets in a historic venue, the IFFF is a free entry international gathering, open to all freeriding lovers and the public in general.
The 2015 edition of the festival left a trail of respect and awareness of the fragility of nature and heritage, a trend towards spirituality and exploration, a search for new landscapes and cultures. It seemed like helicopters had given way to camping in remote areas and skinning up the mountain, but there is only a certain number of lines you can film without using a chopper, so we’ll be seeing more of them on this edition, if anything in a more discrete way.
Stay tune for the following newsletters when we unveil the outstanding lineup of this year’s jury and the selection of films.
